the parade

well, this painting really got me off track from inktober. I found out about a painting competition here in Ambato Ecuador. I have always wanted to do this painting and the competition gave me a reason to. This painting is an extension of the Unforgettable Faces Project, parade edition. These are my thoughts about this painting: Life in Ecuador is vibrant, inspiring. The ultimate expression of this energy is the parade. A parade is a statement of life, the spirit of the city. The beginning of a parade holds excitement of anticipation, celebration, and joy of sharing music, dance, and costumes, and culture. I breath in all this life memorizing this moment. The parade, she takes me and fills me with Color, wild patterns, music, noise, energy. She shares her cities history, and tradition.
How do I share the parade on a silent canvas? This is my challenge.
In my quiet studio, in front of the calm white canvas, I close my eyes and go back to where I inhaled the spirit of the parade. The soul of the parade holds me close, guiding my brush and choosing my paint. I paint what I see, hear and feel, all that the parade says to me. She wants her moment not to be forgotten, vibrating to me her story. This time she wants me to remind her people not to forget the parade, and use it as a sign of hope through the challenge of the pandemic.

Please meet Archie

Hi there artists and animal lovers.
I would like to all to meet Archie, the newest member of my family.
He was rescued from a very bad situation almost one week ago. Since then he had his first vet visit , and his first pup-ichino (the steamed milk from my capuchino) from our favorite coffee shop who also love dogs... Libreria Vieira Arte-Ilusiones here in Banos de Agua Santa in Ecuador.
He is doing ok.... his health is good but he has been emotionally broken...
It will take time and lots of love, I think my family can do that, no problem.
He has started to play with our other rescue pup... it is nice to see...
thank you all for your kind words and loving support. I added him into the Happy Infectious Faces project, because his face makes me smile too!
He has inspired me to make some art and try and show you the love and trust he has in his eyes...
Thank you all for the support and love for him... We greatly appreciate it.
