Beads and Scarf
Living in Ecuador provides an endless amount of opportunities to admire the many people that live here. Yes, some of those faces are happy, some are thoughtful and so on. Ecuador is also one of those countries that still embraces heritage and culture. It is often that I see people still in "costume" from their towns or provinces. I love that they still happily and proudly do this.
I was outside the church in Banos de Agua Santa, Tungurahua Ecuador where I saw this amazing face. Imagine where she has been, what she is thinking about, and whom she loves. Her face tells many stories, all of which are private, but in someways still transparent.
This painting is on A4 Derwent watercolor paper for watercolor pencils, and Winsor and Newton watercolor markers, black Rotring drawing ink (fountain pen) and Unibal signo white gel pen.
