Clown in the Park
I have to say, as a rule, I don't like clowns. But what I like with this subject is that he has not yet become the clown but he is in transition. As he puts on his makeup to sell his cotton candy. He is also putting on his clown character/personality. I love the focus on his face and the light playing over it.
The park by the church offers many wonderful moments. It is a warm and restful place to begin many different moments in life.
This painting was created with fun in mind.
