Deer me

I have been doing some thinking today. I personally like to live in gratitude. Now after a long time it is easy to live like that. I am always grateful for life, for friends, for love, for my family etc. The harder thing I am trying to live from is in forgiveness. There have been several times where my children have come from their hearts and embraced forgiveness. They did it easily and with such kindness. I admire my children for this. I find that I would love to embrace all that is painful and wear it as a badge of life, but I find that that is also a great scar that irritates your soul. So with my meditations of this year, and probably forever, forgiveness will be another embraced theme, also known as letting go.

The deer though strong has a softness and grace with which it moves through life. It may be attacked by predators but it races to hopefully safety with grace and then continues on with life. The deer learned lesson but seemingly continues to move forward with its own direction and purpose flowingly, gently, gracefully. I am in process of doing the same. I don't want to "work" to forgive, just letting go, learn lessons, and carry on. I don't need to carry the burden of blame, hate etc. I let go and move forward.

What is your challenge that you are working with and how are you striving to deal with it. Move forward gently and with kindness for others but also for yourself.

This painting is A3, canson multimedia paper, Dr. Ph Martin Hydrus paint, rotring black ink, and white unibal gel pen.

Hi there
I live in a small town in Ecuador called Banos de Agua Santa. It is 7 km from the active volcano "Tungurahua". The locals call her Mama Tungurahua. Legend is that she is the goddess of the volcano. She is independent, loving strong, intelligent and compassionate to her town. When I am feeling doubt or questioning myself, I look out my window and have a little chat with her. I feel like she is listening when I feel a wash of calm pass over me. This painting is what I think she looks like as she is listening to me.

This painting was created using homemade: gesso, matte medium, spray paints, and stamps. The directions and recipes and many more are available through my book, "Homemade Art Supplies a survival guide for artists". I also used Canson mixed media A3 paper, Dr. PH Martin Bombay inks, rotring ink, rotring technical pen, Unibal white gel pen. It is available through Barnes and Noble, Kobo, Lulu, Apple, Playster and My etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/625439871/homemade-art-supplies-a-survival-guide?ref=shop_home_feat_1

July 14 at 4:31 PMHi there. I am still working on the Unforgettable Faces Project. I have been busy but this face called to me to finish. I had her started in my studio almost a year ago. I had to stop this project to go to Canada.
I love the cultural identity that still flourishes here in Ecuador. They wear it with pride and joy. I love everything about it. I love the jewlery, the fabrics and the heart.
I work with a little bit of OCD, and it works for me. I don't have a lot of unfinished projects. I have a very organized studio, and I can find all my supplies within a few moments. I would go nuts if it wasn't this way. Because of it, I get lots done and there are no distractions when I need to start new projects.
Although this part does not effect my whole life, just the art side. I have one project that has been on my easel for several years, and I think I have finally figured out how to solve it..... But it is on a huge canvas.... so in a while.
This painting, like all the paintings from my Unforgettable Faces Project, is from my own photo reference. It is painted on Canson mixed media, my gesso recipe, my own coloring book (torn drawings from there) a few old books and music scores, Dr. PH Martin bombay ink, and Winsor and Newton Watercolor markers.

well facebook people, as most of you know, since I have never kept my flaws a secret, I have ADD, dyslexia, OCD and a few other kindly learning and comprehension issues. Thankfully, my family has been quite supportive of them. And now I can add another person who helps me, this time she comes in the form of my business coach and assistant. Because of her, we have been able to take my art business in a huge leap forward and we are both learning in the same forward motion. So thank you Irene Garcia Hurtado for all your help, kindness, enthusiasm and patience. All of this is so very much appreciated.

Hi there. Today is the big reveal of my first art book. To be honest this post is filling me with nervousness and anxiety to bring it to the public. I have been writing this book for the last 4 years and gathering information about this topic most of my life.
I started gathering information as a child in my parents art store, and was lucky when many teachers and artists would share with me some of their knowledge. Then later as I struggled financially, but still needed to create art for my soul and sanity, I had to learn how to make art supplies and adapt to what I had to make my art happen. Now living in a country where art supplies are limited, I have developed even more art supply survival knowledge that can be adapted almost anywhere in the world. The main idea I want to teach people is not to let lack stop you from creating, but let it help you be more creative to make fabulous art for your spirit and soul.
So with humbleness, I am asking your opinion of this book cover and of course all suggestions are welcome. Please be gentle with me as this project is near and dear to my heart.
