As promised, here are the 4 inktober drawings. The prompts are: Dirty (a pig's revenge for being called dirty, Fat (cat lovers understand), Graceful (LOVE steam punk fashion!!!) and Mysterious (I think I got the effect with using very little black too! Yeah!)

Sorry to repeat myself but to remind you, Inktober is an international challenge to help all artists work on their ink drawing skills and to have fun.

These drawings were created using Strathmore Tan Toned 300g paper, grey ink from Rotring (which I am really starting to love, as it is a paynes grey really) my fountain pen, Pentel aquash brush pens (which over time have proved to be quite crappy as the fibres are now splaying in all directions),no point or fine tip left, less than one year old and really not used a lot in that time.Pentel brush pen and unibal signo white gel pen.

These drawings were definitely a challenge but so fun to do, and I was so pleased with the effects. A few of the next ones are tougher to figure out illustrations for, quite the brain tease.

Well over half way now. So those of you who are tired of my postings of inktober, sorry to bother you, but on the happy side it is almost over.

Here is another installment of my having fun in Inktober. Remember that I am doing a steampunk fun themed set of ink drawings for this international challenge, that anyone can join. It is a good way to hone your drawing skills.

I did say earlier in other postings, that there were some prompts that I was stuck at and obviously the hardest one in this set was fierce. So I decided not to even try to disguise that this was the one.
These prompts are Fierce, Gigantic, Run, Screech, Shattered, and Teeming (those are metalic fish, I hope you can see that).

I created these drawings with my fountain pen full of grey Rotring drawing ink, Pentel black brush pen, white unibal signo gel pen, on Strathmore tan toned 300g paper

For me art is not always easy but a need that I have deep inside, a compulsion. Yes, I am ADD with, for added conflict, OCD and a few other issues thrown in for added interest and color. So art in the global sense soothes my contrary soul. It helps me negotiate life and recognize my true feelings and thoughts when my ego is masking the real thing.

When I am creating art it is a meditation for me to quiet my mind, I have a lot of energy and asking me to sit and empty my mind might be a bit of a big ask, I have put myself in those kind of classes and I can do it but it never feels satisfying but drawing immediately works so much better for me.
So have fun looking at them. I have 4 more coming this week. Later.

I bet you thought I had stopped the Inktober challenge? Ha, nope! Here are the 4 days to catch up on the posting part of the inktober challenge. Life and life's responsibilities made it difficult to create the drawing and impossible to do the photography and editing and posting of the pictures til today. Life and its demands can be like that.
Since these images are small ,it is easy to work on them almost anywhere, which I have done. Drawing is wonderful like that, you can draw almost anywhere at any time. It is a great stress relief and distraction.
So these Inktober titles are:
"Crooked" (today's challenge)I really like this crooked 1930's style criminal steampunk robot) ,
"Long" (I chose to change the context of the word a bit differently), ok it is not the best idea but it filled in the blank and still is steampunk themed.
"Shy" (a saying with the word shy, "just shy of completion)
and finally "Sword," ( I was thinking of the movie "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" Nemo's "sword of the sea" but with a more mammal reference"
These were fun to do but required more thinking of how to manipulate the theme words to create a drawing rather than the difficulty of the art.
I was playing with the pentel brush pen and using waterbrushes to paint with various values of ink. So that said still using the same paper as before, Strathmore tan toned 300g/m paper, white unibal gel pen, rotring grey ink in my fountain pen, unibal black gel pen.
Remember anyone can join in this international challenge and work on their ink and drawing skills!

Inktober is here and I am up for this international challenge this year. I need some thing to do and keep my mind properly occupied. I am kind of in purgatory right now and am a bit limited with my artistic inspiration. I find art is a wonderful way to deal with the stress that life brings your way.

So yesterdays and todays prompts are swift, and divided. I decided to do a gnome steampunk theme throughout this challenge.
It was fun to do and interesting only using ink-ish. I used grey rotring drawing ink, black gel pen and white gel pen, for divided I also used my paynes grey windsor and newton watercolor marker. I used strathmore toned tan mixed media paper, 300 g/m2 . (You know I am back in Canada when I get to play with such extravagant paper. This paper is so not available in Ecuador!) I divided the 9 in x 12 in paper into 2, so these are just about postcard sized.

Check out Inktober Challenge online if you want to play too. LOTS OF INFORMATION about it.

I miss you Ecuador, wish we were there!!! By the way I am freezing my butt of and it is not even winter yet!
