yes!!! I am still moving forward with the happy infectious faces project.... I have 6 amazing women who gave me awesome photos to work from... ot make paintings from. I feel that all these participants in my personalized 100 faces challenge are heros. Why you ask? Because they want to help other people to smile during this weird time we living (covid). But did they know they could make so many people smile? Does it matter? If you can help to change one persons state from lower to happier, you did a good job.... so thank you again participants. I am smiling and laughing.... :) Strathmore tan toned paper (15cm x 22 ish cm), Qor watercolors, rotring black drawing ink (in my vintage technical pen)

i took this photo the other day of most of my happy infectious faces project all laid out. (i sent the ones to the people that live in Ecuador....I can't yet send them to other countries, our postal system is a MESS right now and expensive.)
I am just so happy, all these faces make me just breathless and thrilled. Thank you so much to all these participants and those people who have been so kind with their comments.... I am learning so much from this project.... I hope this photo makes you smile like it did for me!!! I have used Strathmore tan toned paper, watercolors (used second hand store finds and Qor) white markers and white Qor paint, and always rotring black ink.... well now for something a little different and probably refreshing from the 100 faces challenge....
I found 2 unfinished paintings yesterday, and I am not person who has Unfinished projects. I found them in one of my finished art stacks. I hate to share this but I have ADD and OCD and i can't handle a messy studio or equipment, or unfinished projects. I can't deal with the distractions.... it is like a little niggle that just won't go away. who else is like this.... are are you the other kind.... and would you admit to it????? Collage/mixed media A3: watercolor paper, wrapping papers and international news papers, qor watercolor, posca pens, faber castel polychromos colored pencils, rotring black ink. well, here we are again, another time to smile. these people contributed and i painted, i think they did a great job, and also challenged me yet again.... you think that it would get easier.... but in honesty i am finding it a little harder, anyone got any ideas why that might be? so strange. but i have to say that these faces make me smile and giggle, for sure. Strathmore tan toned paper, 20x15+-cm... Qor watercolor paint, and rotring black drawing ink. hey there, it is one of those Sundays.... anyone having one of "them"? well, either way, here is something to make you smile. again, thank you to those people who put their faces out there.... you are awesome.! oh, yes they did! They did this to help you smile today.... this is a Happy infectious faces aka 100 faces challenge, that you all are helping me to fulfill. Strathmore tan toned paper 20x15cm +-, qor watercolor paint, and rotring black drawing ink. who is ready for a little fun???? These three people made me work for the Happy Infectious faces project.... Didn't the do amazing? I know that there are lots of people waiting for their images. thank you for your patience, i am painting them in the order that i received them, on my ipad.... and there are sooooooo many of them!!! but i am still working through this art challenge for sure.... i think that they are getting better..... i hope... i also hope that together with these people and i, we made you laugh, chuckle or at least smile.... strathmore tan toned paper 11x16.5 cm +-, qor watercolor paint, rotring black drawing ink hi there, i have been painting away with more of the images that some of you have sent me.... these were fun and challenging to do... what have i learned doing the 100 faces challenge/ happy infectious faces: faces are so elastic, don't take myself to seriously after all these are just watercolor sketches, sometimes you don't get it right and that is ok, using a limited palette can look really cool, doing this many paintings takes lots of time, i love love love unique and fun faces, they are just so much more interesting, and what story are they telling me. I jused 15 x 21 ish cm strathmore tan toned paper, qor watercolor, white decorite artline pen, rotring black drawing ink. and some pulling up of my big girl art pants.... cause sometimes i have no confidence.... oh yes! i am up to 50 faces.... 50 happy infectious faces, and a wee bonus... (a little vitamin D(og)
All i can say is boy oh boy what a huge project this is.... What has happened for me at the point as an artist, I have tenacity, i am getting more accurate but still have bumps in the drawing road, and i love doing this wonderful faces.... Again art supplies used, strathmore tan toned paper, qor water color paint, dr. ph martin white bombay ink, and rotring black drawing ink.... hey there, got some more Happy Infectious faces to share.... This time is tough for everyone.... look into these faces with a sense of humor and give yourself permission to laugh, and share it with friends who also need to laugh, it is the best gift to give right now....
Strathmore tan toned paper cut with my ADD skills (15.5 x 22 cm) Qor water colors (alizaran crimson, paynes grey, diox purple transparent brown oxide, and titanium white), and rotring drawing ink. whooooo hoooo, I have finished #40, the happy infectious faces. I am still at it... Some people are laughing with the project and some not so much. but that is what happens with a project like this. I am getting only a little faster and sometimes i am not happy with the result, but i am learning... what do you think? Strathmore tan toned paper, rotring black ink, i am changing over from second hand watercolors, to Qor, can you tell when? |
