Sea Horses

These 2 paintings are me playing. The first one is a left over from art attacking online with Kimberley Wood, and the second was ink play. Well they were both art play and focussing on abstract. They were made with Dr. Ph Martin hydrus paint, black ink pen and white posca pens/unibal pens. The back grounds are doodled with black pen. Art is on watercolor paper with homemade gesso, A4
What was interesting about these paintings is that I was kind of obsessive about knowing that there would be sea horses in these paintings. I searched them out. Although I love sea horses, don't get me wrong, it is just not on my usual subject. In this experience, I just let my mind go with out too much expectation about the outcome. So, I asked myself, "self what the heck, what is with the sea horses already". Later, I chatted with my daughter and she suggested to look up animal totems online to see if there is a subconscious connection. Sure enough it is exactly what is going on in my mind right now.
The purple painting is really jiving with my son(the word resonating is being way over used right now) to where he asked if he could have it. This is the only painting he has ever asked for, so for me, I love giving it to him. He asked to have it before we knew some of the subconscious connection, and not shockingly he is also going through similar growth.
When synchronistic things happen like this, I think, it is something to listen to and at least take some notice and possibly some direction. Being openminded is important to any person, but also very important for artists.
