Lady with Pink Scarf
It was Navidad, in Baños, and there was a Christmas display of a Santa and Sleigh. It was kind of odd for me being a "Northerner" as in my mind the sleigh needs snow and reindeer to propel it about. Then I remembered, that often in the malls of the north there are such displays too. The parked sleigh in the tropics is a wonderfully silly idea.
It was a hot and sunny day and all those visiting were sharing time with their families. This woman's family were all about enjoying their time with each other, having their photos taken to remember for later and smiles were generously shared all around. This woman's family were treating her like a treasure with such respect, she was doing the same. As you can see, her darling joy of this special time is clear.
This painting is on A3 Derwent water colour paper for water colour pencils, and Winsor and Newton water colour markers, Letraset Aqua markers, black Rotring drawing ink (fountain pen) and Unibal signo white gel pen, collage papers, acrylic matte medium, and homemade stamps, and cut outs from my colouring book.
