Old Man in Parade 2
So 2-3 years later from the first man in Parade portrait, here is the follow up. This photo was taken on the same day as the previous one, just drawn years later. It shows how much art skill and how my perspective has changed. Personally, I see lots growth in my skills. I also see how much time and dedication it has taken to get here. I see how you must get out of your own way to do successful art and let your true self do the art. I see you must paint or draw what is there, not what you think you see. But after all that technical stuff, I still see him.
Him, I call him "Him" as I do not know his name but he is still amazing. He is preparing to show others he traditions and beliefs. He is about to dance and celebrate his traditions for 2-3 km over hill and over dale through town carrying a 4 ft tall headdress. As you can see, he is not a young man. Even with is added years, he is determined to be present and celebrate. He is really the essence of Ecuador. This is one of the reasons I love Ecuador, their grit, there strength and their love of who they are, with no exceptions.
