Shoe
There are many parts of life in Ecuador. There are the rich people, the middle class people, and also the poor. Everyone has a job here and at this point everyone has food. Even if you do not have enough money, people will help to feed and take care of you. It seems as if no one is left behind. Everyone has a place and will be accepted. I have seen this true with this fellow. Though he may be poor economically, I had seen him sharing with others, laughing and thinking. I have inspiration from him. Kindness and caring in all people.
This fellow was a shoe polisher here in Baños, for several years. I have not seen this man for a very long time. I used to look for him as he had a unique presence. He has a softness and a gentleness that is hard to describe with words. This is where art speaks louder than words. To me, his portrait speaks of inner strength, survival and dreams not yet met. I will keep looking for him.
