Sun and Bird
I love sitting outside the church and people watching. They all have their reasons to come to my little town, but it seems they all come to make sure they visit the church. I am not a church person myself but I love their emotions around their faith.
My biggest fear, as always, is if I can do another painting or will it be gone. I just hope that this painting honours this woman and her family. She has become one of my Unforgettable Faces, in my Unforgettable Faces Project. Her joy captivated me. She was joyfully watching all the goings on around the park in the front of the Basilica. She feels to me like she embodies the spirit of Baños. She is joyful, powerful, and in the moment.
Now the hard part will be to find her or her family and give it to them. This may take quite a while. I am planning on having a showing of these faces here in Baños in hopes to reach more people. My dream is to set up the paintings and have people come in and literally take their painting off the wall as a gift to them or their family. Then I get to share with them how much their face means to me and how beautiful they are. Anyway, I have a few more faces to do before this can happen.... but that is my goal.
Love those Winsor and Newton water colour markers. I can't wait to find her to give it to her as a gift. Believe me that is the hardest part of the project, finding the owner or the families of the Unforgettable Face.
This painting was created on Canson mixed media paper, liquitex gesso, galleria matte medium, all kinds of paper (paper from tourist guides of the area, Ecuadorian news paper, wrapping paper, my 2 drawings from my colouring book), Dr. PH Martin Hydrus water colour paint, rotring drawing ink, Winsor and Newton water colour markers, Letraset Aqua markers, and Unibal white gel pen, there is Sakura white pen but not very much.
