Thinking Clown
Several years ago here in Ecuador in our wee town of Baños de Agua Santa, there was a Rodeo. Not what I am used to as a rodeo, but a Spanish style rodeo without the killing of the bulls.
I am used to Canadian style rodeos where the cowboys have all the advantage with the best equipment and training etc. Here, they had the cowboys drinking aguardiente (local hooch), wearing no boots, strapping on the spurs directly to their bare feet. I thought it was actually fair the bull gets not protection why should the cowboys. Anyway.....
There was this clown waiting his turn to deal with the bulls. He was probably thinking of psyching himself up... I know I would.
Such a different way of life than what I am used to.
This painting was created using Derwent water colour paper for water colour pencils A3, Dr PH Martin Bombay ink, Winsor and Newton water colour markers, Letra set Aqua markers, rotring drawing ink, and Unibal signo white gel pen. Stencils and alcohol.
