Woman and Yellow and Blue Bird
This is a lovely woman, who although did not give me great photos, finally produced this one. She is a mountain woman visiting with her family, the church of Baños de Agua Santa, in Tungurahua, Ecuador.
Her face is wonderfully lit and to be honest the photo was over exposed but it gave this amazing glow and light. I had such a fun time creating the background for her, choosing who would be her portrait friends and the symbols which reminded me of her. The mandalas create light to enhance her spirituality of the moment.
This painting is on A3 Derwent watercolor paper for watercolor pencils, and Winsor and Newton watercolor markers, Letraset Aqua markers, black Rotring drawing ink (fountain pen) and Unibal signo white gel pen, collage papers, acrylic matte medium, and homemade stamps, homemade gesso and cut outs from my coloring book.
