Woman at Market
I had seen this woman at our Sunday markets in Baños, Tungurahua, Ecuador for a long time. I have several photos of her as I think that she is amazing. She has such character. I think that she is a woman of the earth who is amazingly strong and resilient. She had been at our local farmers market for years. When the city changed the market for a remodeled market she disappeared, I have not seen her since.
She is wearing the typical costume of the mountain farmers here in this province. I have seen this woman work so hard and I have also seen her smile joyfully. I miss seeing her and I hope all is well with her. I guess it just goes to show you that time always changes and that you must move with change. I think that this woman has one of the most beautiful faces that I have seen here. I just wish that I could show her that in the future by giving her her portrait.
This portrait was created using Derwent water colour paper for water colour pencils A3, and Faber Castel polychromos coloured pencils.
